TO THE FINANCIAL TABLE

How my financial journey began

My story didn’t start with confidence or control—it started with silence.

When I first met my husband, it was through a family friend who owned a business. That connection led me to being recruited as an employee, and at the time, I thought it was the perfect opportunity. What I didn’t know was that this beginning would shape much of my life in ways I hadn’t yet understood.

Our relationship grew from that business space, but so did a pattern that lasted for years. For five years, every financial decision was made by him. My role was to work, to contribute, but never to decide. I was expected to follow, to agree, and to abide by whatever choices were already laid out for me.

At first, I accepted it. I told myself it was normal, that this was just how things were supposed to be. But deep down, I felt a growing discomfort. I wasn’t part of the conversation that mattered most—our financial future. And as time passed, I realized something that would change everything for me: this was not how I wanted my life to work.

That realization became my turning point.

I started small—reading, learning, and paying closer attention to how money worked. I began asking questions, even when the answers made me feel dismissed. Quietly, I started setting aside what little I could. At the same time, I looked for ways to earn independently, to test my own ideas, and to remind myself that I was capable.

It wasn’t easy. Breaking away from years of silence felt uncomfortable. There were doubts, and there were setbacks. But with each step, I grew stronger. My confidence wasn’t handed to me—it was built, one financial choice at a time.

Today, I see the woman I was back then—the one who followed, who stayed silent—and I know she gave me the strength to become who I am now. My journey from being kept out of financial decisions to creating my own financial voice taught me that freedom doesn’t come overnight. It starts with a decision: the decision to no longer settle for less than the life you truly want.

My journey wasn’t about overnight success—it was about small choices, steady courage, and the decision to no longer sit in silence. From being the woman who once accepted every financial decision made for her, I’ve grown into someone who shapes her own path, builds her own streams of income, and teaches her children the value of independence.

I share this not because my story is perfect, but because it’s real. And if I could rise from fear and dependency to financial strength, so can you. Every mom deserves to have a voice, to be part of the decisions that shape her life, and to believe in her own ability to create change.

This is not the end of my story—it’s only the beginning of a life lived with confidence, courage, and financial freedom.
